RACHEL HONEYMAN (she/her)
Board Chair

Rachel Honeyman is BJJ purple belt, who ha's been practicing BJJ (among other martial arts) since 2015. Her focus is on martial arts for street self-defence situations, and she is passionate about empowering other women through her self-defence classes.

Rachel is a health and fitness writer/editor based in NY who's been living with depression and anxiety throughout her adult life, advocates for transparent discussions about mental health, and she is thrilled to support #SubmitTheStigma as a member of their board. 

OLIVER CHAN (he/him)
Board Secretary

Oliver Chan is the Head of Customer Experience at StoreBound, a New York based product development company, and also lead of their Better World Initiative, a program dedicated towards engaging employees to participate in community outreach and social causes.

Previously, he has worked in the non-profit sector developing both corporate and beneficiary relationships for Tap Cancer Out and UNICEF USA.  He currently resides in New York City with his fiancée where he has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2008.

JASON BRANDT (he/him)
Board Member

A lifetime amateur athlete in swimming and BJJ, Jason is a professional engineer by trade.  He has spent the last 20 years navigating the North American electricity markets and is currently the founder and CEO of an electricity arbitrage firm, Centre Lane Trading, on Bay Street in Toronto.

SAGE TOYAMA (he/him)
Board Member

Sage is a counsellor/social worker working with the Employee Assistance Program run by Lifeworks while also serving the local community through the Voice of Hope clinic at Brooklin Medical Centre. 

He has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from King's University College, Western University; a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Lakehead University and a Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University.

PATRICK MCCAULEY (he/him)
Board Member

Patrick is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York. He currently oversees the care of mentally ill detainees within a correctional facility and also provides therapy for private individuals for a behavioral healthcare company. He has a doctorate from Capella University in Clinical Psychology, a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University.  

 

Patrick is currently a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. When he's not working, he enjoys training in BJJ as well as teaching the youth classes at his academy.
